Blood/Infusion warmers are used to warm refrigerated and room-temperature fluids that are being administrated to the patient.
Administration of cold fluids can cause the body temperature to drop.
The patient's core body temperature decreases especially in 30 minutes from induction of anesthesia.
The low body temperature during surgery may result in hypothermia.
The ANIMEC AM-301 is an electrically powered warmer which warms up refrigerated infusion/blood to near body temperature before delivering to the patient. The heating plate applies heat to flowing fluid via the tube placed in its channel. The unique design of channel offers two ways of tube setting. With single channel setting, the maximum flow rate is 15ml/min for achievable temperature. Dual channel setting is adequate when faster flow (up to 20ml/min) and/or higher warming is required. The device is available for two standard tube sizes 4mmØ and 5mmØ.
The software controls the temperature of the heating plate and enables the fluid to be heated up to the target temperature at exit set by the user at either 36ºC or 39ºC. Alarm and other over-heat protection ensure safe use.

The ANIMEC AM-2S is an electrically powered dry warmer which supplies external heat to the plastic tubing incorporated in intravenous administration sets. The IV Tube is placed in the ‘S’ shaped channel of the aluminum heating plate. This simple-to-use device is available for two tubing sizes 4mmØ and 5mmØ.

| Q. Why does an air bubble appear in the tube when using the warmer? |

| Fluid bags generally contain air. Tiny bubbles join forming into larger bubbles as the fluid is warmed. The volume of air in a bag does not increase by warming. It's advisable to use a tube with a drip chamber or bubble trap, etc. to avoid delivering air to the patient. L-Fusion disposable set has a bubble trap. |

| When the temperature of the heating plate reaches a certain level, the power supply to the heater stops temporarily to prevent over-heating and the display shows no temperature. This is possibly caused by the empty bag, stopped flow or improperly setting of L-fusion set. |
